I just joined your forum last night and posted 1 post, but i've been reading alot and now I am very confused. I Bought a CVA wolf last year and was told to use either Triple seven pellets or Shockley Gold and use powerbelt bullets. I was also told to use 2 Pellets (100) grains if I wasn't going to shoot over 100 yards and use 3 pellets (150) grains out to 150+ yards, so I sighted it in starting at 25 yards and got it to hit dead on, then I shot at 100 yards and had a reasonible group at 1" ...

Realizing that there is no such thing as an accidental discharge, only an action that should have been prevented.

The other day I was navigating through brush to my stand with my hands full of "stuff", my CVA Optima ML loaded and primed, un-cocked and slung over my shoulder.

Then BANG- what the heck happened? the rifle ...

I few months ago, I had an chance to meet him. due to the times me and

jess went though FL, we felt that it was better not to do call and wake

him up. but now knowing how he is now, he would not care. both me and

Bullet expansion

Has anyone had any trouble with the powerbelt bullete going through a deer without any expansion, and leaving no blood trail. I used T7 100 grain, 200 grain bullet.

Recommendation for T/C Renegade Caplock

I have the gun sighted in now with 245 grain PB behind 95 grains of Pyrodex RS. I've not taken a deer with this combo yet, but have seen some opinions that the bullet may not hold together on game with that high of a charge. Can someone recommend a place to start using powerbelts? Also, would Pyrodex P produce better results? I am not restricted to using the 245 grain if a different weight bullet would be better.

Corey, that big package of yours just came in.

First thing i thought is that the fly was sticking. I pulled the lock and that Sear does not look like the correct cva sear. I am going to play with the Drum first and get that taken care of first before i do anything else with it.

I have one spot that is 5yrd to 50yrd shooting line no more than that.

planning on a 2 week break I have to get one of my sidelocks going.

in that short range, would an 50cal round ball load be enough?

This morning i headed out bright and early to start my 4th season Colorado Cow Elk hunt. I was able to locate a bunch of tracks of deer and elk. Close to 4PM I had went back to the area after a break and a nap at home and started back up to where i had seen some deer early this morning, along with millions of deer tracks and darn good number of elk tracks.

I am now thinking about glassbedding. doing the trigger job myself (kit cost $15 shipped plus time). casting and reloading (old plan for ammo for it).

have to look up the prices for the bedding, read somewhere jb weld can work for bedding. going to do a little looking around sksboard, someone on there as had to do it sometime.

this is what happen.

anterless day in my part of va

get up early for my first early morning hunt. 30mins after day break a doe and a yearling pass by at 100+ yrds.

first mistake. going after the yearling, it was old enough to take care of itself at this point.

second. shooting at an distance I have not shot that much at with the load I was using.

third, shooting into head winds of 5 to 10 mph. with gust of 15 to 20mph.

forth, mother nature this ...

a bipod for it around $25

case of 1000 rds of 7.62x39 (it won't shoot with out ammo)
